My name is Melissa Porter and I’m passionate about helping my patients achieve confident, healthy smiles through personalized orthodontic care. I believe every smile is unique, and I take pride in creating treatment plans that are tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and lifestyle. I also love getting to know my patients personally and find it incredibly rewarding to watch their confidence grow throughout treatment.
As a native of the area I now serve, it’s especially meaningful to build lasting relationships within my community and care for the families who call it home. My approach to orthodontics combines advanced clinical training with a commitment to patient comfort and clear communication. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, my goal is to make every visit a positive experience and deliver results that last a lifetime.
I grew up in the upstate of South Carolina. After graduating from Wren High School, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Winthrop University, graduating summa cum laude. I then attended the Medical University of South Carolina, where I graduated at the top of my class. I continued my training at MUSC for my orthodontic residency, where I had the honor of serving as Chief Resident.
Outside of the office, I enjoy trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time with my husband, Cody, our son, Beckham, and our dog, Ollie. I am also deeply passionate about my faith, which plays an important role in both my personal life and the way I care for others.
